646 - The secret under Mary's hat.

Mary never went out without her hat, and while out, she never took it off, so, as time passed by, the people of the town started to create stories about what was hiding Mary under her hat.

"Under Mary's hat, she hides a terrible monster with seven eyes and two heads" some may say.

"There's absolutely nothing under Mary's hat, not even hair, because she uses her hat all the time to hide her baldness" Others may say.

But the truth was that under Mary's hat was, indeed, something hidden; but it wasn't a monster nor her baldness, it was a little sunflower which had grown on the top of Mary's head due to the sunflower seed she had accidentally eaten when she was little.

One day, my father, the shoemaker, tired of seeing me cry because I always came at last in the races of the school, made me a pair of running shoes with a pair of little wings on its sides, with which, according to him, I'd never lose another race; but I never knew if the running shoes worked or not, because I never wore them, I was ashamed of wearing a pair of running shoes with little wings on its sides.
